As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 904 people, 348 households, and 271 families residing in the city. Thepopulation density was 1,736.5 people per square mile (671.2/km²). There were 360 housing units at an average density of 691.5/sq mi (267.3/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.78% White and 0.22% Asian.There were 348 households out of which 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.8% were married couples living together, 3.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.1% were non-families. 21.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the city the population was spread out with 28.5% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 18.9% from 45 to 64, and 20.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 94.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.4 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $47,344, and the median income for a family was $54,018. Males had a median income of $36,563 versus $25,446 for females. The
