Renee Powell (born in Ohio on
4 May 1946 ) is an Americangolf er who played on the U.S.-basedLPGA Tour and is currently head professional at her family'sClearview Golf Club . She was only the secondAfrican-American to become a member of the world's leading women's golf tour. She is a member of theOhio Golf Hall of Fame .Early life
Renee began playing golf at age three. Her father, William J. Powell, is the only African-American to design, build, own and operate a golf course in the United States.
Professional career
Renee competed in more than 250 tournaments and won the Kelly Springfield open in Brisbane, Australia.
