The Women's Olympic Field Hockey Tournament at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia was held in the Morris Brown College Stadium, and ran from Saturday July 20 to Thursday August 1, 1996.

Participating Nations

Three nations automatically qualified for the 5th edition of the Women's Olympic Field Hockey Tournament:

*#fhw|ESP – Olympic Champion of the 1992 Summer Olympics
