Biography
Early life
Battiste was born in Hayward, California, to Darryl Grant and Dr. Eless Battiste. He was raised with his older sister by his mother in Oakland, and Vallejo, California. He attended Golden Gate Academy in Oakland, Highland Elementary, Springstowne and Solano Jr. High in Vallejo, then graduated from Castro Valley High School in Castro Valley, California After graduation he attended Chabot College in Hayward, majoring in Drama.
Career
He began his career earlier performing at the age of thirteen in B-Boy Battles. After moving to Los Angeles in 1992, he formed a rap duo called "Makin' ENZ" with his good friend Danny Bell in 1994, and soon after they signed with Caliber Records in 1995. The duo broke up in 1997. Later that year he met Nick Cannon. He is currently represented by 1Management and Moodswing360.
He is known mainly for his work in Nick Cannon's Wild 'n Out, as he is the DJ who plays music in between commercial breaks, introduces the games they play, etc.
