San Lorenzo Ruiz Center of Studies and Schools

San Lorenzo Ruiz Center of Studies and Schools (SLRCSS) was founded on September 28,1990 by a group of educators who share a common vision.

Initially, it was registered at SEC as San Lorenzo Ruiz Child Study Center (SLRCSC). It was formally opened in the school year 1991-1992. The school started with an enrollment of 50 pupils in a three-bedroom bungalow on a 375 m2 lot on Jade St., Saint Agustin Village, San Fernando, Pampanga. Initially, it offered preschool (nursery, junior kindergarten and senior kindergarten) and grade one. Grades two and three were added to its elementary course offering in SY 1992-1993, grade four in SY 1993-1994, grade five in the succeeding school year and had its first elementary graduates in SY 1995-1996.

Due to the unprecedented growth in enrollment, the school had to move its grade school in SY 1994-1995 to its present site in a 15,068 m2 campus at Villa de San Lorenzo, Saint Dominic Corinthian Annex, Dolores, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The preschool was transferred the following school year.

The founders of the school wanted to put up a high school department, but due to the calamity that devastated Pampanga and the nearby provinces on October 1, 1995, the school had to defer its plan. Instead of opening the high school department, a branch was established at the L&S Subdivision, Angeles City in SY 1996-1997. Initially, its course offerings were from nursery to grade two. In SY 1997-1998 grade three followed, then grades four to six were added to its elementary course offering one grade after another in the succeeding school years. It had its first batch of elementary graduates on March 2001.

In SY 1999-2000 San Lorenzo College of Education opened with Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd) and Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSEd) as its courses. Both courses offer common major: English, Science and Mathematics. Early Childhood Education is an additional major for BEEd.
