Westview High School Concert Choir, as of 2008, has been claimed as one of the most well rounded performing groups in the Northwest U.S. The Choir has reached the OSAA State Choir Championships for 10 consecutive years, and placed 4th in 2008. It was the first time in the 21 year history that a Beaverton School has placed in the top five. Also, in 2008, teams that have competed in OSAA events submitted GPAs of 3.0 and above to Dairy Farmers of Oregon, who give the Academic All-State Award. Few teams are as large as this 73 Voice Choir, which tied for 5th in the 6A Classification for teams with a combined GPA of 3.0 and above.

Choirs have been directed by Marci Taylor since 1995, who earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Music Education from Portland State University.

Westview Awareness to Action

Awareness to Action is a club that focuses on raising awareness on global crises. Through a partnership with the nonprofit organization Nomad Charities, Awareness to Action has adopted two sister schools in Kibwezi, Kenya.

During a two-month period in the spring of 2008, Awareness to Action collected over 40,000 books for Kibwezi. The MP of the Kibwezi District was so impressed by the donation that he built a library to store all these books and named the library "The Westview Library" in honor of Westview High School.

In the Spring of 2007, the club raised $10,000 from a school-wide "Walk-a-Thon" to build a well in their sister school in Kibwezi, Kenya for clean water. Through a matching grant from the Olive Bridge Fund, the club was able to donate $20,000 for the well.

In previous years, Awareness to Action also ran a school supplies drive, supporting more than 500 HIV/AIDS affected orphans in Kibwezi for two years worth of supplies.

The club has also run district-wide summits on issues surrounding AIDS in 2007 and a summit on global crises in 2008. The club is a member of the Portland Global AIDS Coalition and a member of the K-12 Education Program of the World Affairs Council of Oregon. The Global Citizen Corps program has also partnered with the club to raise awareness of global poverty through its leadership program.

Westview International Culinary Club

The International Culinary Club (ICC) was a club few people knew of. In fact, after 2006, the club may have gone under as the President graduated and the supervising teacher retired from Westview. Members paid only $10 a year and enjoyed both creating international dishes and eating them too! Some examples of dishes that ICC cooked included Irish Soda Bread for St. Patrick's Day, Spring Rolls for Chinese New Year, and a baked Banana dish native to Africa.

Westview Theatre Department

Directed by Ms. Carolyn Reid, the Westview theatre department produces over 6 productions each year. The school boasts a student-led Thespian Club, a large auditorium with fly-space, and a former professional technical director, Mr. Derek Lane. The theatre department involves many students and parents each year, and prides itself on offering many opportunities for student participation, whether it be acting, technical, directorial, or otherwise. The department's season this year includes:"Willy Wonka","Crimes of the Heart,""Give my Regards to Broadway,""Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,""On the Verge,""Fahrenheit 451,"and the "One-Act Play Festival."
