Kelli Dayton, also known as Kelli Ali (a name she took to honour her father, Michael Ali) born
June 30 1968 inBirmingham ,England is a female vocalist most recognized for being lead singer for thetrip-hop groupSneaker Pimps . Though she was featured prominently in both the songs and the music videos for the album "Becoming X " (the group finding fame following the release of the hit single "6 Underground "), she was released from the group in 1998 when they decided to do vocals for their own songs.Kelli moved on to a solo career, starting with "
Tigermouth " in 2003. With this album, she moved from trip-hop to a moredreampop sound. The album featured hits such as "Sunlight in the Rain" and "Kids," which featured ex-Doors drummerJohn Densmore . She toured alongside Garbage in 2003 and released a follow-up album, "Psychic Cat", in mid-2004. The second album was more of a return to Kelli'srock and roll roots, and featured musician-turned-authorTony O'Neill on keyboards.In February 2005, Kelli sat with [http://www.auralgasms.com/Features/KelliAli/default.aspx Auralgasms.com] to discuss her career with the Sneaker Pimps, her solo work and her future aspirations.
Kelli was originally part of a group called Psycho Drama before joining the Lumieres (as their songwriter, singer, and lead guitarist) a few years later. The Lumieres only had one major single, "Cinder Hearts".

Japan recording and writing tracks withHoshino Hidehiko fromBuck-Tick andCube Juice for the bandDropz .Kelli recently posted on her official site that she is working on a new solo album and plans for it to be released sometime in 2008. The new album will have a different direction in sound compared to her last two solo albums.
The new album is titled 'Rocking Horse' and will be released 2008The album was produced by Max Richter (Fat Cat records) in Glasgow and Edinburgh in the first half of 2008
