WJTN (1240 AM) is a radio station licensed to Jamestown, New York. The mostly local news/talk outlet is owned by Media One Group. The station signed on on New Year's Eve, 1924-25, making the station the oldest in southwestern New York and fourth-longest lived in all of Western New York-- behind only WGR, WBEN and WNED-AM.

Programming

WJTN airs a significant amount of local programming, including Dennis Webster's morning show and a long-running adult standards program by Jim Roselle. The station also has an extensive local news bureau, airing full news reports at the noon and 5:00 PM hours, as well as in-depth coverage of local sports.

Syndicated programming heard on WJTN includes Ed Schultz, Lou Dobbs, Dr. Dean Edell, Jim Bohannon, and Coast to Coast AM. On weekends, the station is affiliated with ESPN Radio, one of three Western New York affiliates of the network (including WGR in Buffalo and WGGO in Salamanca), and also carries replays of Glenn Beck.

Prior to July 2008, the station had a local liberal talk radio program, "The Hall Closet", hosted by Ray Hall, while sister station WKSN carried "The Rush Limbaugh Show". "The Hall Closet" was discontinued after June 20, 2008, most likely stemming from an incident where Hall used explicit language on the air, along with events surrounding the incident. The two stations' talk formats were merged, and WKSN was switched to oldies. It is one of the rare instances where "The Rush Limbaugh Show" was dropped entirely from a market.

In addition to extensive high school sports coverage, WJTN carries the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees.
