In the fictional Star Trek universe, Nanclus is a Romulan ambassador to the Federation in the late 23rd century in the movie Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. He is notable for being a conspirator in the assassination attempt on the Federation President (unnamed) during the Camp Khitomer conference between the Klingon Empire and the Federation. He also attempts to convince the Federation President and Vulcan Ambassador Sarek that the Klingons cannot make trustworthy allies. The attempt was aimed at preventing the Federation and the Klingon Empire from establishing peace and forming an alliance. The assassination plot was ultimately unsuccessful after Valeris, a Federation co-conspirator, revealed the plans to Spock and agreed to confess. Nanclus was arrested by Klingon-Federation forces while attending the conference. As a result, the Khitomer Accords are signed.
Nanclus is played by Darryl Henriques.
Appearance
Unlike many later Romulans from Star Trek: The Next Generation and later series, but similar to Romulans from the original series (Star Trek: The Original Series), Nanclus does not have prominent forehead ridges.
His uniform consists of a blue-gray, tunic-like jacket and pants with a prominent brown-yellow sash. This uniform is similar to those worn by other Romulans attending the conference, but has not been seen in any other Star Trek movie or television series.
