As of the
census GR|2 of 2000, there were 391 people, 147 households, and 108 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 1,552.9 people per square mile (603.9/km²). There were 175 housing units at an average density of 695.0/sq mi (270.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 97.70% White, 0.77% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.26% Asian, and 1.02% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.51% of the population.There were 147 households out of which 38.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.2% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.5% were non-families. 21.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 3.11.
In the town the population was spread out with 28.4% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 19.4% from 45 to 64, and 12.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 101.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.4 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $36,364, and the median income for a family was $41,364. Males had a median income of $29,500 versus $20,333 for females. The
