Christine Louise of Oettingen-Oettingen (Oettingen, March 20, 1671 – Blankenberg September 3, 1747) was Duchess of Brunswick-Lüneburg and the maternal grandmother of Empress Maria Theresa, Queen Elisabeth Christine of Prussia, Queen Juliane Marie of Denmark and Tsar Peter II of Russia. She was also the maternal great-grand mother of the Queen of France Marie Antoinette and Emperor [[Ivan VI of Russia] and the great-great-grand mother of Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (Queen Victoria`s mother).
Biography
Christine Louise was the third daughter of Albert Ernest I, Prince of Oettingen and Duchess Christine Friederike of Württemberg.
She married Louis Rudolph, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg at Aurich in 1690. They had the following children who reached adulthood:- Elizabeth Christine (1691-1750), married Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor
- Sofie Charlotte (1694-1715), married Tsarevich Alexei Petrovich of Russia, Peter the Great's son and heir
- Antoinette Amalie of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (1696-1762), married Duke Ferdinand Albert II of Brunswick-Lüneburg
The marriages of her three daughters were arranged by her ambitious father-in-law, Anthony Ulrich, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel.
