- Petagas War Memorial
The Petagas War Memorial garden was erected in memory of
World War II fighters who sacrificed their life to protect their mother land while fighting the Japanese, particularly a group of guerrillas called “The Kinabalu Guerrillas” led by Albert Kwok. The Kinabalu Guerrillas deployed a revelation attack on the intruder which clearly recorded on the eve of October 10, 1943 in district of Tuaran and Menggatal and marched onto Jesselton (currently name Kota Kinabalu) before they were defeated and executed on the January 21, 1944. The Memorial garden was situated across the highway from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport about 9 km from the city ofKota Kinabalu ,Sabah ,Malaysia .
