Robert Perrault

Background

He was born in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade on May 13, 1947.

City Councillor

He was a member of the progressive "Montreal Citizens' Movement", also known as "Rassemblement des citoyens et citoyennes de Montréal (RCM)" in French. He was elected to Montreal's City Council in 1982 against Civic incumbent Sid Roger Larivée in the district of Laurier. He was re-elected in 1986 and 1990. He served as Deputy Chairman of Montreal's Executive Committee from 1986 to 1990.

Member of the Legislature

Perrault did not run for re-election to the City Council in 1994, running as a Parti Québécois candidate for the provincial legislature in the district of Mercier instead. He won and was re-elected in 1998.

Premier Lucien Bouchard appointed him to the Cabinet in 1996.

Perrault retired from politics and gave up his seat in 2000.
