community radio station in Prince George,British Columbia ,Canada , broadcasting at 93.1 FM.The station is owned and operated by the Prince George Community Radio Society under a developmental community license with a transmitting power of 5 watts. The format of the station is predominantly (but not exclusively) pre-1980 pop.
Evening and weekend programming will eventually be comprised of feature shows hosted or produced by other not-for profit organizations from the Prince George area.
The Spruce Kings and Prince George’s newest radio station, CFIS-FM, announced August 14,2007 that the Spruce Kings play-by-play broadcasts for all regular season and playoff games will be aired on 93.1 CFIS-FM; they will also be simulcast on the Spruce Kings website and the BCHL Fanzone. Game broadcasts will feature a pre-game show, play-by-play of the game and a post game show. During home games, fans will be able to bring a portable FM radio to the Coliseum and listen to the game broadcast on 93.1 CFIS-FM. Play-by-play of the Spruce Kings broadcasts will be handled by Ron Gallo, Chaten Randhawa & Brandan Spyker.Ron Gallo who has been with the team for the past thirteen seasons in many roles including play-by-play coverage of the team’s road games on the internet during the previous two seasons. Chaten Randhawa has broadcast experience in the BCHL having been an analyst for the Vernon Vipers. Also stepping into the booth is Brandan Spyker who is looking forward to starting a career in broadcasting with the Spruce Kings. The play-by-play will begin in the 2007-2008 season.
