James S. Cafiero (born
September 21 ,1928 ) is an American Republican Partypolitician , who served in theNew Jersey General Assembly from 1968 to 1972 and in theNew Jersey Senate from 1972 to 1982 and from 1990 to 2004, where he represented the 1st legislative district.He served in the Senate on the Judiciary Committee and the Law and Public Safety and Veterans' Affairs Committee.
