The 1996 U.S. Presidential election, which featured Democratic incumbent Bill Clinton and his Republican challenger Bob Dole, resulted in very close margins of victory in many states, including some not generally considered swing states. The following is a list of the states with the lowest margins of victory (less than 5%) in 1996, sorted by the margin percentages and color-coded for Dole or Clinton:
