Parramatta Advertiser

Parramatta Advertiser

The "Parramatta Advertiser" serves the communities of Parramatta and Holroyd local government areas and plays an important role in delivering news and information to the region. It has the biggest circulation in the area and is committed to covering the latest breaking news, sport, council decisions, and community events every week.

The paper was awarded the Best Community Newspaper in New South Wales with a circulation of more than 40,000 in 2005. It places importance on community engagement, which is demonstrated by its regular involvement with community and business initiatives, such as the preservation of Old Government House and the Business Achiever Awards program, established to recognise outstanding business in the local community. The Parramatta Advertiser is an active member of the business community, involved in the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, Riverside Theatre, Parramatta Eels NRL club, and other Parramatta City Council initiatives.

About the region served by the paper

Parramatta is at the demographic heart of the sprawling Sydney metropolitan area and is the economic centre of the Greater West. It has significant legal and retail precincts and the new bus-rail interchange strengthens Parramatta’s role as a major transport hub.

Parramatta is also home to the Parramatta Eels rugby league club, the rich Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens, Riverside Theatre, popular pubs, clubs and a large number of restaurants.

Holroyd takes in the busy commercial area of Merrylands and residential suburbs such as Greystanes and Guildford. A large industrial area in Holroyd provides manufacturing jobs for people from throughout Sydney.
