Peel High School is a co-educational, Public high school, located in Tamworth, a city in the New England region of New South Wales, Australia.

Established in 1976, the school is a rural comprehensive high school with a focus on technology,and currently enrols approximately 400 students from Year 7 to 12.

Peel High School is a school of the New South Wales Department of Education and Training (DET), and prepares students for the School Certificate (Year 10), and the Higher School Certificate (Year 12).

History

Established in 1976, Peel High School was named after Sir Robert Peel, an important British politician at the time of the discovery of the Tamworth region, by British settlers in Australia.

Curriculum

The school provides a broad curriculum, with links to the community, parents, Technical and Further Education (TAFE), local businesses and local government schools.

Strong in academic and sporting areas, Peel High School aims to provide an inclusive curriculum and environment, where students can achieve their best.

The school provides for a wide range of students. It has three special needs classes, Aboriginal education, and is responsible for the offsite annex, Tamworth Tutorial Centre, which caters for students from local schools with conduct disorders.

Recently five students won a script competition for the Namoi Catchment Region. The film, "Squirt and Droplet, Environmental Police", will be shot in December in and around Tamworth.Fact|date=March 2008
