Monte Toro (El Toro) Summit at Dusk

El Toro in Catalan or Monte Toro in Spanish is the tallest hill of the island of Minorca with 358 m (1,175 ft) of altitude. The mountain is home to a rather famous church which remains silent for most of the year, as well as a cafe which serves light snacks, lunches, and cold drinks which are great for a Spanish summer's day. There is a very easy car path which runs up the side of the mountain which can be taken straight up to the top, from which there is a fantastic view of the nearby areas of the island.

Mainly visible is the north side because of the car park which is built onto the side of the mountain. This is the only proper viewing point and it is facing the north towards Son Parc, etc. so El Toro is not a good spot for viewing the south side. However, the hill can be seen from most of the island.

El Toro is designated as an ANEI (protected natural area).
