The Mall is located at Cribbs Causeway which is situated in Patchway, South Gloucestershire, near Filton Airfield. The primary access routes are the M5 Junction 17 and the Patchway bypass road. The Mall, with around 14 million visitors a year, is one of the two major shopping centres in the Bristol area, the other being the Mall Galleries in Broadmead in addition to Cabot Circus also in Broadmead.
History
The Mall, opened on March 31 1998 and comprises 135 shops on two levels, although some of the large stores occupy more levels. The major businesses are Marks and Spencer, John Lewis and Boots. At its centre point, The Mall has a large fountain with an impressive water display.Money thrown into the fountain is donated to local charities, the company reports it raises in excess of £10,000 a year for local charities [cite web |url=http://www.mallcribbs.com/charity.php |title=The Mall's Fountain Charity Fund |publisher=The Mall|accessdate=2008-11-04] . Above the fountain is the extensive food court that hosts many cafes and restaurants such as KFC and Pizza Hut. The Mall has both lifts and staircases which can take you from floor to floor.
Retailers
The Mall is occupied by two anchor stores, John Lewis and Marks and Spencer along with various fashion retailers, jewelers and audio visual stores. In total there are 135 retail outlets.
Transport
The Mall has over 7000 parking spaces spread over a car park that is divided into different sections which is free to use.
The Mall has its own bus station which is served by many bus services operating in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Wales.
Future
To celebrate the mall's ten year anniversary, the company announced a five million pound refurbishment of the food court and John Lewis. It will be completed in two stages with overall completion in May 2009 [cite web |url=http://www.mallcribbs.com/news_room.php |title=The Mall's News Room publisher=The Mall|accessdate=2008-11-04] . The food court will be renamed 'The Avenue'.
