Postal Orders of the Akrotiri Sovereign Base Area
- Postal Orders of the Akrotiri Sovereign Base Area
British postal orders have been issued by the BFPOs in the Akrotiri Sovereign Base Area since 1960, shortly after Cyprus became an independent republic.
Currently, there are two BFPOs in the Akrotiri Sovereign Base Area. They are BFPO 57, Akrotiri and BFPO 53, Episkopi.
Postal orders issued by these two post offices are quite sought after by collectors, as the location of the BFPOs is usually regarded as being a closely guarded secret within the British Armed Forces for security reasons.
