Jenkinsburg is a town in Butts County, Georgia, United States. The population was 203 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Jenkinsburg is located at coor dms|33|19|30|N|84|2|6|W|city (33.325081, -84.034922)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.0 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 203 people, 76 households, and 55 families residing in the town. The population density was 258.4 people per square mile (99.2/km²). There were 84 housing units at an average density of 106.9/sq mi (41.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 72.41% White, 21.67% African American, 0.49% Asian, 0.49% Pacific Islander, and 4.93% from two or more races.

There were 76 households out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.9% were married couples living together, 13.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.6% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.13.

In the town the population was spread out with 26.1% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 25.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 91.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.2 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $40,417, and the median income for a family was $45,625. Males had a median income of $31,786 versus $29,000 for females. The per capita income for the town was $17,437. About 4.3% of families and 13.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 15.9% of those under the age of eighteen and 9.5% of those sixty five or over.
