The bird genus Minla (from minla, Nepali for M. ignotincta)[1] of the family Timaliidae was commonly used for three, most likely unrelated species. The genus is probably best split, with only the Red-tailed Minla (M. ignotincta) retained in the now-monotypic genus.
Previously, the genus contained the following species:
- Red-tailed Minla (Minla ignotincta)
- Chestnut-tailed Minla (Minla strigula, now Chrysominla strigula)
- Blue-winged Minla or Siva (Minla cyanouroptera, now Siva cyanouroptera)
