Hector MacLean, 5th Lord of Duart

Hector MacLean, 5th Lord of Duart

Hector MacLean, 5th Lord of Duart (1572-1630) was a Scottish Lord of the MacLean.

Birth

Hector was most likely the son of Sir Lachlan Mor Maclean, 14th Clan Chief (1558-1598) and Margaret Cunningham of Glensairen. Hector married Isabella Atcheson of Gosford. Isabella was the daughter of Archibald Atcheson of Gosford. By a second marriage, with a daughter of Sir Archibald Acheson of Gosford, he had another son, Donald of Brolas, whose son Lauchlan became M.P. for Argyllshire, and whose descendants were to inherit the chiefship as sixth and successive baronets. |publisher= ]
