It is bounded by the comuni of Agrigento, Caltanissetta, Camastra, Campobello di Licata, Canicattì, Castrofilippo, Delia, Favara, Licata, Palma di Montechiaro, Ravanusa and Sommatino.
History
Naro was founded in the Middle Ages. The villas dates back to the Roman times. It was an important centre during the Middle Ages and the coat of arms of the old country represented the towers. It was the centre of ancient Sicilian history until it became isolated from the main ways of communitations.
The recent history remembered the work of Rosario Ferracani was a masonry and a contractor and constructed water ducts which still exists today. In the Second World War, Naro resisted aerial bombings.
Naro is also famous for the festivity of its local patron Saint, San Calogero, which is celebrated on June 18. On this day, the Saint is towed throughout the city streets by thousands.
Today, Naro is an agricultural commune.
