The Hunts Point Cooperative Market, a wholesale food market located on 60 acres (243,000 m²) in New York City's South Bronx district, is the largest food distribution center in the world. Its revenues exceed $1.5 billion annually.
Located at the Hunts Point Food Distribution Center, which houses the Fulton Fish Market, a produce market and a meat market, the Hunts Point Cooperative Market is the source for approximately 60 percent of New York City’s produce. The 47 independent wholesale food businesses located at the Market supply food to over thirty million people in the New York metropolitan area .
The Market consists of six large refrigerated/freezer buildings with a total refrigerated space of approximately 700,000 square feet and is governed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
