Mohammed Saqlain (born 23 February 1978 in Lahore, Pakistan) is a field hockey player. He plays centre half and is one of the most feared players in the world of his sport. He made his international debut for Pakistan in 1998.

He has terrorised his opponents with his skills with the stick and a no-nonsense approach towards the game, never shy to exchange a word or two and always ready to take on the opponents. He has his critics but he brings an extravagance to the game which has no substitute. He is a dashing player with a lot of enthusiasm and can prove himself to be an aggressive captain if he can channel his energy in a proper way. Aggiss rated him as "unquestionably a good player", has a troubled and violent past. He has assaulted opposition players and his teammates. Which will forever remain a stain on his otherwise illustrious career which has left many a players from all over the world shivering due to the intensity of his game. He was made captain in 2005 and was quoted by the chairman of PHF as a developed and matured individual who has put his past behind him. His talent has never been in question, the responsibility of captaincy may be just the trigger to greatness for this gifted player.
