U.S. Navy duringWorld War II . She was built to clear minefields in offshore waters, and served the Navy in thePacific Ocean before being transferred to theSoviet Union under terms of thelend-lease progam.She was launched

Chicago, Illinois ,4 January 1945 "Disdain" made her way down theMississippi River toNew Orleans, Louisiana , arriving the last day of the month for shakedown training. Sailing fromBurrwood, Louisiana ,27 February , "Disdain" called atSan Diego, California , and arrived atSeattle, Washington ,22 March to prepare for future transfer. On7 April she sailed fromSeattle, Washington , forCold Bay, Alaska , arriving15 April to trainRussia nsailors .Transfer to the Soviets
She was decommissioned
21 May 1945 and transferred to theU.S.S.R. under lend lease. She was reclassified MSF-222,7 February 1955 , and remained inRussian Navy hands until she was converted to awhaler and namedMV Storm . Fate unknown.References
