County Road 150 (more commonly referred to as Central Avenue) is the main throughfare of downtown St Petersburg, Florida. Consistent with its name, Central Avenue is located directly in the middle of downtown. Immediately to its north is 1st Ave N, right to its south is 1st Ave S, etc., thus creating the foundation for the downtown grid. It is also represents the figurative center of the city. Many of the city's renowned restaurants are features on this avenue. Also most of the nightlife is on or very near Central. Some prominent examples are Bella Brava Italian restaurant, Lobby Bar, Jannus Landing, and the The Arts Center. The Downtown Looper trolley has a stop along Central, at The Arts Center. Grand Central Region and Historic Kenwood
In recent years, this area on Central two miles west of downtown has taken off. The neighborhood called Historic Kenwood contains the newly formed entertainment district Grand Central. This locale was voted among the 10 best "cottage communities" in America by "Cottage Living."
