Frederick Alderman

Frederick Pitt ("Fred") Alderman (June 24, 1905 – September 15, 1998) was an American athlete, winner of gold medal in 4x400 m relay at the 1928 Summer Olympics.

Alderman won, as a Michigan State University student, the NCAA Championships in convert|100|yd|abbr=on and convert|220|yd|abbr=on and IC4A Championships in convert|440|yd|abbr=on in 1927.

At the Amsterdam Olympics, Alderman ran the third leg in the American 4x400 m relay team, which won the gold medal with a new world record of 3.14.2.

Alderman was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon while at Michigan State University.

Alderman died in Social Circle, Georgia, aged 93.
