It is a popular area for both winter and summer activities, especiallycamping ,hiking ,rock-climbing ,snowmobiling , andskiing . Popular areas include theBeaver Mountain ski resort, the Tony Grove camping area, and numerous caves.The Sinks are popular for snowmobiling. One of the sinks, known asPeter's Sink , recorded the lowest temperature inUtah onFebruary 1 ,1985 , at -69°F (-56°C), which is also the second-lowest temperature ever recorded in theLower 48 .Logan Canyon is the only major route through the mountains, which is accessed byU.S. Highway 89 . The highest point in the Bear River Mountains isNaomi Peak , at an elevation of convert|9980|ft|m|0, located in the Utah portion in Cache County.ee also
