The only thing they eat are things that aremold y or have fungi. They usually appear near bathtubs sinks or any moist area. They come from the walls near pipes. They are a reddish brownish color (occasionally black).They are harmless bugs they come in homes in large numbers infesting moldy products and dry food. Females lay up to 500 eggs at a time in walls. People usually confuse them with
tick s, fruit flies andflea s. They are very similar to thesaw-toothed grain beetle but they are two different species. The best way to control them is to vacuum your house at least three times a week.Further reading
