Chinese Overseas Movement of Advanced Culture

The Chinese Overseas Movement of Advanced Culture (COMAC) is a non-governmental organisation based in London, United Kingdom.

It aims to enable a greater understanding of China and its culture by providing participants with professional training and development of their skills and encourage networking between participants. It has official links with China and has partnerships with the Institute of Education and many other organisations.

COMAC started Mandarin Chinese classes in schools in 2005 and was the first organisation to do so. It has curricular and extra curricular activities in UK schools that are part of an official Chinese government scheme to fund the provision of free volunteer Chinese teachers to local schools in the UK.

COMAC's international department supports collaboration between the various affiliates of the organisation. In 2005, COMAC set up a program called UK China Links that is intended to foster links between British and Chinese schools with shared curricular projects in over 30 schools in London.
