The Awakening Story(Chinese: 婚前昏後) is 2000 TVB drama series. The story mainly surrounds the main character's awakening from a 16-year coma after a car accident and how she deals with the changed world, and her husband's infidelity. After waking up, it is slowly reveal that she was in the coma because 16 years ago, it was her daughter's birthday. She was throwing a tantrum because she wanted a cake to celebrate. Her mom went to get one and while she goes back to the after buying it, she gets hit by a car, thus resulting in the coma.

After waking up, her personality was what you call 'clueless'. While her husband ran a company, was smart and successful, she was still dealing with her surroundings. She was basically unfit for her husband, for they had two different personalities. Her son wanted to become a professional hairdresser. His dad opposed to the idea while his mom thought it was a good thing to follow his dreams. She always encouraged it. While their daughter wanted to keep in touch with her boyfriend, but her dad opposed to it, because he was an 'average person', and therefore not good enough for her, her mom encouraged them.

The main character's husband thought she was not good enough for him. She was stupid, annoying and messed everything up; like his computer. Finally, he keeps in touch with another smarter girl from his company. After spending time together, they fall in love and become a couple, while hiding the fact from his wife.

Eventually, she finds out more about her husband's affair with the girl and divorces him. While on the other hand their older daughter blames it on herself because she can't forget how her mother fell into a 16 year coma for her. Her mom, like always, encourages her to not think that way and she finds a lover.

Her mom always wanted to not be so useless and dumb and starts learning more about technology, business and etc..... She tries to find a job, any job, even being a cleaning maid, and gets an extreme makeover. She starts gaining more knowledge and gets an even better job. She even surpasses her former husband, and he falls in love with her again.
