- Late Stone Age
The Late Stone Age refers to a period in African prehistory that is contemporaneous with the
Upper Paleolithic . The late stone age (LSA) follows the Middle Stone Age and is believed to have begun about 50,000 years ago. Like theUpper Paleolithic , the LSA is characterised by a much wider variety in stone artifacts than the previous MSA period. These artifacts vary with time and location, unlike MSA technology which appeared to have been in relative stasis for several hundreds of thousands of years. LSA technology is also characterised by the use of bone tools. The LSA is often assoiciated withModern human behavior . [cite book
