Terry Ryan was selected 8th overall, in the
1995 NHL Entry Draft . He was selected as the 1st choice of the Montreal Canadiens.Despite his high ranking, Ryan played only 8 games for the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL over parts of three seasons, failing to register a single point. The majority of his career was spent in the minor professional hockey leagues. He was later dealt to the
Toronto Maple Leafs who never called him up from thefarm team in St. John's.Terry Ryan was son of Terrance Clinton John Ryan, also known as Terry Ryan Sr. He also played world hockey. He later ruined his career and became a teacher for over 40 years. He loves to talk about his trip to Rome, his hockey career, and his son, whom he thinks is amazing!Terry Ryan Sr. was a great french, history, health, and religion teacher. He was very high tempered, he had to leave in such a rage. He now teach's adult native's in Quebec. The 'Lock down' legend will forever live in the mines of the students, and will be missed as he sets off on his journey to Quebec.

In 2007, Terry Ryan represented Canada at the ISBHF ball hockey tournament in Germany. He led the team to a Gold medal.
