(Savi, 1838)The Corsican Brook Salamander or Corsican Mountain Newt (Euproctus montanus) is a species of salamander in the Salamandridae family. It is endemic to Corsica, an island in the Mediterranean.
Corsican Brook Salamander is found primarily in rocky streams, springs, and rivers in forest and maquis at altitudes of over 600 m.
It is around 10 cm in length, fairly small for its genus. It is olive-colored with mottling. It has a grey underside, with dark blotches, except on the throat. It is threatened by habitat loss.
