synonyms = The Lesser Bamboo Bat ("Tylonycteris pachypus") is a species of vesper bat in the Vespertilionidae family.It is found in Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and the Philippines.

The bat, the size of a bumble bee, is among the smallest mammals on earth, around 4cm fully grown. The wingspan is close to 15cm and it weighs just 2 grams.

The brood of the bat, up to 25, live in the hollow of bamboo shoots and are fed by the mother. The entrance hole to the bamboo tunnel is too restrictive for most predators, such as snakes
