USS Salmon

Three submarines of the United States Navy have been named USS "Salmon" after the salmon.
*"Salmon" (SS-19), launched in 1908, was a D-class submarine, renamed "D-3" in 1911.
*"Salmon" (SS-182), launched in 1936, was the lead ship of her class of submarine. She served in World War II and was scrapped in 1946.
*"Salmon" (SSR-573), launched in 1956, was a "Sailfish"-class radar picket submarine, sunk as a target in 1993.
