- Haulover Park
Haulover Park is a
regional park owned and operated byMiami-Dade County, Florida . The park is located on a barrier island between theAtlantic Ocean andBiscayne Bay , extending one and a half miles north from theBaker's Haulover Inlet . It is bordered on the north by the City of Sunny Isles Beach. The Village of Bal Harbour is across Baker's Haulover Inlet at the south end of the park. The park has a mile-and-a-half long beach, a marina, six tennis courts, and a nine-hole 27-par golf course. Part of the beach in the Park, commonly known as "Haulover Beach ", is officially designated "clothing-optional".There is a State of Florida Historical Landmark Marker (over 50 years old) at the original Lighthouse Dock site dedicated on February 21, 2004 to the first charter-boat captains at the 1926-1951 dock. It is the first and only marker in the State of Florida for a fishing dock.
