The Johnsonville-Porirua Motorway is a motorway in Wellington, New Zealand. It forms part of State Highway 1, the main route of traffic in and out of the city.

The motorway runs from Johnsonville, in the north of Wellington City proper, to Porirua. It is approximately 11 kilometres long, and mostly flat. At its southern end, it is connected to the Wellington Urban Motorway through Ngauranga Gorge — this connection is not considered motorway, meeting most but not all of the criteria. If the Transmission Gully Motorway is built, it would connect to the Johnsonville-Porirua Motorway near its northern end.

The first section of the motorway, running for three miles from Johnsonville to the southern edge of Tawa, was opened in 1950. It was New Zealand's first motorway. [ [http://www.transit.govt.nz/about/faqs.jsp#8 Transit New Zealand - FAQ] ]
