- List of UEFA Cup Winners' Cup winners
The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was a seasonal association football competition contested between UEFA member associations' domestic cup winners, such as the English FA Cup champions. Throughout its 39-year history, the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was always a knock-out tournament with two-legged home and away ties up until the single match final staged at a neutral venue, the only exception to this being the two-legged final in the competition's first year. The first competition was won by Fiorentina who beat Rangers 4–1 over two legs to win the 1961 Final. As part of UEFA's reorganisation of its cup competitions, the Cup Winners' Cup was abolished in and the last final of the competition was held in 1999,[Cite web | url = http://www.uefa.com/competitions/ecwc/format/index.html |title = Competition Format | publisher = UEFA | accessdate = 2008-03-10| date = 2005-07-13] with Lazio defeating Real Mallorca.]Barcelona hold the record for the most victories, winning the competition four times. Barcelona, Anderlecht, Atlético Madrid, Rangers, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Rapid Wien hold the record for being runners-up the most times, with each team losing the final twice. England has provided the most champions, with teams from the country winning the competition eight times.
