Huatung Valley or Hualien-Taitung Valley (
Traditional Chinese : 花東縱谷), also known as the Longitudinal Valley, is a long and narrow valley located at the betweenChungyang Range andHaian Range . It is also recognized as a plain area which stretches for about 180kilometers near the eastern coast ofTaiwan , passes from theHualien City at the north to theTaitung City at the south.The valley is believed a part of the collision of
Philippine Plate andEurasia Plate .
