Fort MacKay is a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada. It is located in the Wood Buffalo Municipal District, at the northern end of Highway 63, km to mi|64|abbr=yes|wiki=yes north of Fort McMurray, at an elevation of m to ft|260|precision=0. The Athabasca River flows east of the settlement.

The hamlet is located in census division No. 16 and in the federal riding of Fort McMurray-Athabasca. It is administered by Wood Buffalo MD. It was named in 1912 after Dr. Williams Morrison McKay, the first President of the Northern Alberta Medical Association.

The economy is centered around the development of the Athabasca oil sands to the immediate south and north of Fort MacKay (motorists traveling north on Highway 63 pass through the development en route to the hamlet).
