Crack Rock Steady 7

The Crack Rock Steady 7 is a band of seven musicians of the Crack Rock Steady scene in New York City, most of which are the current members of Leftöver Crack. The members of the Crack Rock Steady 7 also made up bands such as Choking Victim, Morning Glory, INDK, Niño Zombi, Star Fucking Hipsters, No Commercial Value, and Reprenize. They get the name from the pre-reggae genre rocksteady, and their obsession with crack cocaine. The Crack Rock Steady 7 have had one release under that name, A split album entitled "Baby Jesus Sliced Up in the Manger" with band F-minus. Leftöver Crack sometimes play under the guise of the Crack Rock Steady 7 at venues where Leftöver Crack has been banned.

Today, the CRS7 generally refers to two different entities: the first being The Infested with Scott Sturgeon on vocals and the second being a collaboration between Sturgeon and Mexican ska/punk band Niño Zombi, aptly titled the Crack Rock Steady 7 MexicoFact|date=June 2007.

These bands became hometown (c-squat in the Lower East Side of Manhattan where they squatted) legendsFact|date=June 2007 for their innovative music and highly political lyrics. At the same time they also became infamous for their Satanic imagery and numerous references to the vagrant lifestyle such as crack-smoking, shoplifting, and squatting. They also, like many other bands in the punk scene, have strong anti-police sentiments in their songs. These bands pride themselves on their Atheism, often making sarcastic references to Satan, for the sole purpose of being offensive, rather than any sort of actual worship of the deity.
