* 1927.07.14: Established as Apostolic Prefecture of Bahr el-Gebel from the Apostolic Prefecture of Nilo Equatoriale in Uganda
* 1951.04.12: Promoted as Apostolic Vicariate of Bahr el-Gebel
* 1961.05.26: Renamed as Apostolic Vicariate of Juba
* 1974.12.12: Promoted as Metropolitan Archdiocese of Juba
