Red Devil is a census-designated place (CDP) in Bethel Census Area, Alaska, United States. The population was 48 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Red Devil is located at coor dms|61|47|0|N|157|20|13|W|city (61.783443, -157.336811)GR|1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 26.4 square miles (68.3 km²), of which, 24.2 square miles (62.7 km²) of it is land and 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²) of it (8.34%) is water.

Demographics

As of the censusGR|2 of 2000, there were 48 people, 17 households, and 12 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2.0 people per square mile (0.8/km²). There were 22 housing units at an average density of 0.9/sq mi (0.4/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 45.83% White, 43.75% Native American, 2.08% from other races, and 8.33% from two or more races. 14.58% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 17 households out of which 35.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.1% were married couples living together, 17.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.4% were non-families. 29.4% of all households were made up of individuals and none had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.33.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 41.7% under the age of 18, 2.1% from 18 to 24, 18.8% from 25 to 44, 29.2% from 45 to 64, and 8.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 118.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $10,938, and the median income for a family was $25,417. The per capita income for the CDP was $5,516. There were 33.3% of families and 40.9% of the population living below the poverty line, including 33.3% of under eighteens and none of those over 64.
