Gymnastics at the 2004 Summer Olympics - Women's artistic qualification

Gymnastics at the 2004 Summer Olympics - Women's artistic qualification

The women's artistic qualification round was a preliminary competition with the purpose of determining the finalists of the six female artistic events of the gymnastics at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. It was held on August 15 at the Olympic Indoor Hall.

In the team competition, four or five of the six team members competed in each of the four apparatus. If there were five gymnasts competing, the lowest apparatus score was dropped. The total score for the sixteen results was the team global score. Individual team gymnasts competed in anywhere from one to all four apparatus, with their all-around score being the sum of their scores in each apparatus. Those gymnasts which were not part of teams also competed in the qualification round, attempting to qualify for the individual apparatus finals.
