ConDor is an annual fantasy and science fiction convention held in and around San Diego, California in the early spring. It is sponsored by the California Association for the Advancement of Speculative Media,[1] a California non-profit corporation. ConDor is the longest running science fiction convention in San Diego. Its emphasis is evenly split between film, television and literature.

The latest convention, ConDor XVII, occurred February 26-28, 2010, at the Handlery Hotel in San Diego.[2] The guest of honor was CJ Cherryh.

History

The oldest fan-run San Diego science fiction convention, the convention seeks to be all things to all persons, and thus is dedicated to science fiction and fantasy; to art, literature, and media; to serious scholarship and just plain fun. The first ConDor was held in 1993. Author Octavia Butler, and producer/director J. Michael Straczynski were the guests of honor.
