The eastern terminus of the route is at its junction with U.S. Highway 84 and State Route 41 near the border of Monroe and Conecuh Counties.
Route description
State Route 136 is aligned along a two-lane road for its entirety. It leads eastwardly across central Monroe County. It was created in
1963 along the former route of State Route 21 leading eastward from Monroeville. At the route’s halfway point, it passes through the small town of Excel, the birthplace of formerAlabama Crimson Tide andDallas Cowboys linebacker Lee Roy Jordan , then continues to its eastern terminus at its junction with US-84.Counties traversed
